
As you know, Plan 2 members who want to transfer to Plan 3 must complete the Member Information Form (MIF). Please remind these individuals they must provide you with the MIF by January 31, 2009 to become a Plan 3 member. Find out if a member is eligible to transfer to Plan 3.
Elected/Governor Appointed Officials are exempt from mandatory membership in the Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERS). However, they can apply and become a member if they choose to do so. You should not report Elected/Governor Appointed Officials to DRS prior to receiving direction to do so from DRS staff. Get more information regarding elected officials.
