In March 2006, the Department of Retirement Systems (DRS) will provide you with the 2005 annual statements for active members for the following systems. Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERS), Law Enforcement Officers’ and Fire Fighters’ Retirement System (LEOFF), Washington State Patrol Retirement System (WSPRS), and Judicial Retirement System (JRS). Annual Statements are mailed to employers by system (LEOFF, JRS, PERS, WSPRS) so if you report for multiple systems, annual statements may arrive on different dates. For more information regarding what information is presented on the annual statement, refer to Detailed Information below.
Each reporting group’s statements will be printed and sent to you in alphabetical order by member last name. If you want to receive them printed in any other sequence, please provide sequence control numbers to DRS.
Use the Control Number Field via the transmittal reporting process to record your sequencing information for each member. All updates and new sequence control numbers received by February 21, 2006, will be used.
Note: If you gave us sequence control numbers last year, the same number will be used this year unless you edit them. However, if you now want the statements in alphabetical order by last name, please contact ESS for further instructions.
When the statements are folded, the employee’s name and address will show through a window envelope. If you choose you can mail the statement directly to the member’s home. We appreciate your help in distributing these confidential statements to your employees.
The following account information appears on the annual statement:
