Whether they're at the beginning of a career or nearing the end of it, your employees have important decisions to make that will impact their quality of life in retirement. Good information, as well as the opportunity to ask questions and have them answered by experts, is key to making those decisions. The Department of Retirement Systems partners with ICMA-RC to offer educational sessions, conveniently held at your work site, that will help your employees make well-informed choices.

Each session has a slightly different focus:

Plan 2 or 3 Choice

The sessions led by ICMA-RC are designed to help your employees make the choice between Plan 2 and Plan 3. There are many factors that need to be considered before making this irrevocable choice and what works for one person may not work as well for another. For those employees who choose Plan 3, ICMA-RC also offers in-depth educational sessions specific to that plan, which include going over the investment options and withdrawal alternatives.

Pension Plans 1-3 and DCP

The sessions led by the Department of Retirement Systems' education and outreach staff are broader in nature. We help your employees calculate what their needs will be in retirement, determine what they are on track to having, or not having, to meet those needs, and plan accordingly. We also review their state retirement plan(s) and tell them about a very important benefit of their employment - the Deferred Compensation Program.

It's easy to schedule a session and we can be very flexible on time. For a session on Plan 3, or on choosing between Plan 2 and Plan 3, call ICMA at 1-888-711-8773 or visit the ICMA Web site. To set up a session with staff from the Department of Retirement System's Education and Outreach staff, please call us at 1-888-327-5596 or visit the DRS Web site.
