Self-Audit Instructions
The purpose of the self-audit is to verify that:
- all employees you report to DRS for service credit in a retirement system are eligible to participate;
- all employees who should be participating in the retirement systems are being reported;
- compensation reported is in compliance with state law and the regulations that relate to the retirement systems; and
- compensation and hours are reported correctly for retiring employees.
Choose your audit year -- usually, it's the most recent calendar year -- before beginning.
Please Note: It is not necessary to send us any of the information you gather or forms you complete during this audit. But you may wish to retain them for your own records.
