Plan Choice - January Transfer Option for PERS, SERS and TRS Members

Eligible PERS/SERS/TRS Plan 2 members have the option to transfer to Plan 3 during the open enrollment period which occurs January 1 through January 31st each year if enrolled in Plan 2 prior to:
- PERS: March 1, 2002 for higher education or state agency
- PERS: September 1, 2002 for local government
- SERS July 1, 2007
- SERS: July 1, 2007-July 31, 2009or SERS with prior PERS Plan 2 Service
- TRS: July 1, 2007
Employers must provide:
- The Plan Choice Booklet which includes the Member Information Form, the Beneficiary Form. These members may find An Introduction to Plan 3 and the Plan 3 Investment Guide also helpful
Direct members to the ICMA Web site to assist them with their plan choice
After the member makes a plan choice, provide the appropriate Member Handbook

Employers must keep a supply of forms and publications on-hand to provide to members
