Online Account Access

Sign up for online account access to manage your retirement accounts. One user ID and password (when you log in through the DRS website) gives you access to all of your accounts, including Plan 3 if you're a member, and Deferred Compensation Program if you're a participant.

How do I sign up?

It takes just a few minutes and there are only four steps.

  • Step One: Read and accept the DRS Access Agreement.
  • Step Two: Provide your name, birth date, ZIP code and the last four digits of your Social Security number. We will match this information against our most recent records. Call us if your information isn't up to date.
  • Step Three: Select a user ID and create your password.
  • Step Four: Confirm the information you have entered.

What can I access?

What you can view and update depends on your personal account(s) and where you are on your career path. The following is a comprehensive list and doesn't necessarily reflect what you will see:

  • Name and mailing address
  • Email address and phone number
  • Retirement account balance
  • Beneficiary and direct deposit information you can update online
  • Monthly service credit
  • Annual statements
  • Employment history
  • Your documents
  • DCP account balance (if you're participating)
  • Plan 3 account balance (if you're a PERS, SERS or TRS Plan 3 member)
  • 1099-R, monthly payment information, IRS withholding and post-retirement employment (retirees and survivors)

You can also create a benefit estimate and apply for retirement.

How secure are DRS accounts?

The state of Washington takes security standards seriously. DRS security standards are equal to the strongest in private industry and the military. Computer networks are continuously monitored by security experts who watch for any sign of vulnerability.

The computer networks used to send and receive your retirement account information have a full range of security controls (multiple firewalls, anti-virus protections and others) to ensure your data is protected. Likewise, your login credentials (such as your ID and password) and the information within your account are encrypted.

All DRS employees are trained in best practices for securing your account information and understanding the threats to your personal information. Every DRS employee is required to pass Washington state security tests each year.
