Eligibility – Step 1

Preparation

Before you start the eligibility portion of the Employer Self-Audit Program, create a position and personnel list for the audit year you selected earlier. This list should contain the following:

Each position should be individually identified by position number and by unique job description. If you don’t have unique position numbers or job descriptions, contact the Employer Audit Unit.

For your convenience, we provide a Position and Personnel List template in Microsoft Excel.

Selecting an audit sample

Select 10 percent of your positions to review for eligibility using the position and personnel list you created. You should use the following criteria to select your sample:

  1. Employees who were not reported in an eligible position to DRS with:
    • High annual gross compensation
    • Cumulative annual hours greater than 350
  2. Employees who were reported in an eligible position to DRS with:
    • Low annual gross compensation
    • Cumulative annual hours less than 350
  3. Multiple employees sharing the same job title

Identify which positions you selected for your audit sample on the position and personnel list you created.
