Elected/Governor Appointed Officials are exempt from mandatory membership in the Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS). However, they can apply and become a member if they choose to do so. If you have a new appointed or elected official, please contact the Elected Official Team at (360) 664-7966. As you know, eligible Plan 2 members who would like to transfer to Plan 3 must complete the Member Information Form (MIF). Please remind these individuals they must provide you with the MIF by January 31, 2013 to become a Plan 3 member. You can verify if a member is eligible to transfer to Plan 3 by accessing Member Reporting Verification (MRV). For additional information regarding this process see transferring to Plan 3.
