In May, DRS sent Email 13-011 asking your organization to review any contracts you entered into with any contractor, independent contractor, or personal service contractor where the primary services were being provided by a DRS retiree between June 2010 and the present. We also asked your organization to complete the attached Independent Contractor Verification form and provide it, along with copies of any contracts that fit the criteria, to DRS by July 31, 2013.
You are receiving this notice because we still haven’t received a response from your organization. Under Washington law, every employer participating in one or more of the retirement systems DRS administers shall fully cooperate in the administration of the systems in which its employees participate.
We are asking your organization to comply with this administrative instruction relating to contractors. Please complete the attached form and return it, along with copies of any contracts that meet the criteria, by September 30, 2013. If you are unable to meet this timeframe, please respond to this email and let us know when we can expect a response.
