Help Your Employees Plan for the Future

Whether at the beginning of a career or nearing the end of it, your employees have important decisions to make that will impact their quality of life in retirement. Good information, as well as the opportunity to ask questions and have them answered by experts, is the key to making those decisions.

DRS Education & Outreach

The DRS Education & Outreach (E&O) team travels across the state to increase awareness of retirement benefits and to promote retirement education for your employees.

The team presents complex retirement information in an easy-to-understand manner, answers questions and helps your employees better understand their retirement benefits and options. As you know, it's never too early or too late to plan for retirement.

We offer educational presentations on retirement system benefits and the Deferred Compensation Program (DCP). We visit you on-site and can talk with your employees about one or both topics. We have expanded Plan 3 education to include Plan Choice and Withdrawing from Plan 3.

In conjunction with group presentations, we are available to conduct one-on-one appointments scheduled for 15 to 20 minutes. Typical topics discussed include:

  • How to use online services (online account access).
  • When can I retire?
  • Assistance with making changes.
  • Plan choice questions.
  • How DCP, a supplemental savings plan, can help employees prepare for retirement.

We also attend various events, such as benefit fairs, new employee orientations, staff meetings, conferences, etc., to share information and help make the event a success.


Each month, we offer webinars on Plan 2, Plan 3, Plan Choice and DCP. Each quarter, a Social Security Administration representative provides a webinar on Social Security.


We host retirement seminars around the state. Designed for employees who are within five years of retirement, these seminars present information about Social Security, Medicare, retiree health insurance options, VEBA, retirement system benefits and DCP.

Benefits Summits

We offer a limited number of Benefits Summits. Designed for early- and mid-career employees, these summits focus on retirement benefits, DCP, Social Security and investment basics.
