Chapter 8: Transmittal Reporting

The Reporting Process

Name and Address Changes

Active members' names and addresses can only be updated through the transmittal report. Employers should remind their employees to notify them of changes.

Reporting Using SFT
Name Information

When members or participants notify you of a name change, you should report the new information on the Member Profile Record of the transmittal report. Remember to report a "Y" for the Member/Participant Name Update Flag.

Address Information

When members or participants notify you of address changes, you should report the new address on the Member Profile Record of the transmittal report. Remember to report a "Y" for the Member/Participant Address Update flag.

Reporting Using Web Based Employer Transmittal

If you report using WBET, go to the Earning Detail screen. Click on the Update Member Info button associated with the member’s name. This will take you to the Update Member Information screen where you can report name and address changes. For additional information, view the procedures in Using the DRS Web Based Services.

Retirees with Address Changes

Retirees must complete the Name/Address Change form to make changes. If the member is a retiree or has applied for retirement, the Member Profile Record will reject if an employer transmits it to DRS. The employer will also not be able to access the Update Member Information screen on WBET.
