DRS is working to provide our employer partners with a more effective system to process employee retirement information by replacing our current Employer Information System (EIS). We plan to implement the new employer reporting application using a modern Business Process Management Suite rather than our legacy system. We've established a four-phase project in anticipation of funding.
The first two phases are underway. The Phase One team is hard at work determining the processes and requirements for how the new system will function. The Phase Two team has gathered information through a Request for Information (RFI) and is preparing a Request for Proposal for a new application development platform that is flexible, scalable and extensible. After Phase Two is complete, the Proof of Concept phase will launch in preparation for the Application Build.
DRS initiated the Employer Reporting Application Project after an extensive review of the Employer Information System, the primary means for data exchange with DRS. Through feedback from public employers and DRS team members, we determined a need to produce a more efficient, reliable and secure system for employer reporting. This project will determine the requirements of the new system, acquire technology, test the technology on a process and then implement the new reporting application.
