Department of Retirement Systems is a proud supporter of America Saves Week. This year, the event will take place Feb. 27- March 3.
About America Saves Week
Since 2007, America Saves Week has been an annual celebration as well as a call to action for everyday Americans to commit to saving successfully. The America Saves pledge helps savers to set a goal and make a plan to achieve better financial stability.
Each day will focus on a different way to save:
- Monday, Feb. 27 — Saving automatically
- Tuesday, Feb. 28 — Saving for the unexpected
- Wednesday, March 1 — Saving for major milestones
- Thursday, March 2 — Paying down debt is saving
- Friday, March 3 — Saving at any age
In 2022, over 400,000 people set up a new savings account or made a deposit into an existing savings account as part of America Saves Week. Over $1.14 billion dollars were deposited into new and existing savings accounts.
