Subject: DRS Notice 25-024, New Employer Handbook Chapters Online Now

Two new chapters were added to the employer handbook – one for hiring retirees and another on the topic of reporting substitutes. We developed these chapters based on feedback we received from employers.

Chapter 16: Reporting Substitutes

If you employ substitutes, this new chapter contains all the information you need on the topic in one place – reporting, hiring, Type Codes, Status Codes and more. You no longer need to search throughout the handbook for this information.

Chapter 17: Hiring Retirees

All employers can use this new chapter to find what they need to know up front before and when they hire a retiree return-to-work employee.

We heard from employers that this topic was hard to find. Now it’s on the employer homepage; we’ve added “Hiring Retirees” as the very first topic in the “Top Searches” box.
