Subject: DRS Notice 26-007, Type Code 95 Expiring: Return to Work Rules and Type Code Changes for Non-administrative Nursing Positions

Effective July 2, 2026, type code 95 will no longer work in the Employer Reporting Application (ERA). Type code 95 is used for retirees from the Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERS) and the Public Safety Employees’ Retirement System (PSERS). These PERS and PSERS retirees must be working in a non-administrative licensed nursing position for a state agency or institution of higher education.

The type code 95 exception ran from April 14, 2023 – July 1, 2026. Please review each retiree return to work employee to determine if any of them are a type code 95. Once you have identified the employees with a type code 95, please end-date the type code and place them in a type code 98.
