Subject: DRS Notice 25-006, Beneficiary Form
We’ve noticed that some employers are not providing their employees with the latest version of the Beneficiary Form. When an older form is used, it does not process automatically through our system. This means the information must be entered by hand and takes longer to process.
The newest version of the form has updated instructions to help employees fill out the form with ease. If you have a supply of printed copies or an electronic version saved locally, please review the date on the lower-left corner of the form. Make sure you are using the current version with the date 03/2024.
As an alternate to using a form, encourage employees to create an online retirement account.
Online accounts allow employees to:
- update their beneficiary information
- view their account information
- review their service credit
- send secure messages to DRS
- create a benefit estimate
